What do Princeton, Columbia, Penn, Lehigh, Lafayette, and St. Joseph's have in common? ... or the Gross Anatomy Lab at Hahnemann Medical School and the expansive art studios at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts? Planned and chaperoned by the head of Upper School, the director of college counseling, and the school counselor, the college trip allows students to not only explore their many options for further education, but take in a little culture at the same time. Students attended the musical "In the Heights" at the historic Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia and splashed in the pool at the Princeton Marriott.
On the college trip, students were exposed to college campuses and the many opportunities they offer. The excitement and anticipation was evident as students met college admissions staff and toured each school. While tours provide a visual exploration of each school Kole Calhoun Jersey , they also provide passionate testimonies and detailed perspectives from college students - ambassadors for the college admission office - that help students envision what is unique and beneficial about each school.
The junior college trip is another element that makes up the personalized college counseling experience at Harrisburg Academy. When these students were in 9th and 10th grade, they went on a full-day field trip to other local colleges and universities, including Bucknell, Franklin & Marshall, and Dickinson. By exposing the students to many different options in higher education, they have the advantage of being well informed consumers when they are visiting campuses with their parents.

- A Blueprint for the Academy's Future:
In creating the model for our strategic planning Mike Trout Jersey , the administration made a few key decisions. First, we endeavored to engage our entire school community in the process. This approach allows all Academy community stakeholders, as well as friends of the Academy, to provide feedback. We also decided to shorten the strategic planning timeline from five years to just three. This allows the Academy to more quickly adapt and react to the rapidly changing educational world in which we function.
At the core of the strategic planning process is our Planning Committee, made up of trustees, parents Albert Pujols Jersey , faculty, and administrators. This group attends each of the strategic planning meetings and engages in the many group conversations that generate a whole host of innovative ideas and suggestions.
Our first few strategic planning meetings have resulted in thought-provoking conversations and creative ideas. Each week the dynamics are different, as new parents and community members join the discussion. By using one broad question each week, the meetings become our own Academy "think tank," as multiple groups wrestle with the same question but come up with radically different feedback.
