Richmond have called Focus on Footys bluff.President Peggy ONeal and her board have rejected a compromise proposal put to them on Tuesday morning at a meeting with the rebel group. The group, led by Dr Martin Hiscock, had backed away from calling for a board spill at the meeting, instead hoping to gain four to five seats without an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) at the club. But having convened a board meeting to discuss the proposal that afternoon, the Tigers response was emphatic. The Richmond Football Club board rejected this request in its entirety, a club statement read. Our members are perfectly entitled to run for the board and we have processes in place to allow them to do just that, ONeal continued. We encourage any of our 70,000 members wishing to do so to engage in our nominations process or through our normal electoral process as part of the annual general meeting. The time leading up to the AFL draft is really important for all clubs and our priority right now is running this club, and providing a stable environment that allows our CEO Brendon Gale and our new general manager of football Neil Balme to build a stronger Richmond on and off the field. The board and our administration - under the guidance of Brendon - is getting on with the really important business of attracting players, coaches and commercial partners to our club, and planning for 2017.Im sure all passionate Richmond members and supporters want Brendon and Neil focused on delivering the changes we have announced to strengthen our football department and not be distracted by other issues. The Tigers then appeared to slam the door shut on the rebel group, saying no further comment on the issue would be made. The club took the wind out of the groups sails on September 12 when they announced Balme would be their new football director. It is understood only 100 member signatures are needed to force an EGM - something the two parties want to avoid - but the ball is squarely back in the rebel groups court now.Today we offered an olive branch, not a concession, in the best interests of long-suffering Richmond members and fans, Dr Hiscock said before Richmond released their response to the meeting. We have to do something. We dont want to wake up in 15 years time and say we should have done something before it became half a century since our last premiership.Dr Hiscock said his group did not want to depose ONeal.Focus On Footys Mag Kearney, who was in the meeting with the club, said the group would provide the funds to pay out coach Damien Hardwick if new performance guidelines were not met next season.Hardwick is contracted until the end of 2018. Penguins Jerseys China . In the lead up - which seemed to begin the moment Mike Geiger blew the whistle in Houston last Thursday night - the Impact rumour mill went into overdrive. The speculation went into meltdown mode, of the golden nugget variety. Custom Pittsburgh Penguins Jerseys . Just not the game. Kyle Palmieri scored two straight goals in the third period to rally the Anaheim Ducks past the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 on Tuesday night. https://www.cheappenguinsjersey.com/ . -- Hunter Smith scored the winner with just 12 seconds remaining in the third period as the Oshawa Generals edged the host Sarnia Sting 5-4 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action. Pittsburgh Penguins Store . It is a cliché dragged out by fans and pundits regularly when discussions take place around which teams are better than others. Wholesale Penguins Jerseys .J. -- Marty Brodeur beat the Pittsburgh Penguins yet again. DETROIT -- Injuries are part of the game, but for the Detroit Tigers and New York Mets, they seem to be an everyday part. One of the reasons Detroit didnt make any non-waiver trade deadline deals -- aside from having little to offer -- was the expectation of getting pitchers Jordan Zimmermann and Daniel Norris back from the disabled list along with right fielder J.D. Martinez.Theyre all back now -- sort of.Norris was taken off the disabled list -- and optioned to Toledo.Zimmermann came off -- and got rocked in his first start. Now hes dealing with a bad right lat muscle that might land him back on the disabled list. More might be known after he throws a side session on Sunday.Martinez came back as a pinch hitter and clubbed the winning home run on the first pitch he saw upon his return, then smoked a double on the first pitch he saw in his first start the following day.The Mets will be missing a middle-of-the-order bat for two weeks (or maybe more) with outfielder Yoenis Cespedes going on the DL with a right quad issue he has been dealing with for three weeks.Thats not to mention problems with keeping their first basemen healthy and assorted injuries to other infielders and key rotation members. It seems like theres a night we pitch well and we dont hit, Mets manager Terry Collins said. Then theres another night we score six and we win a game and the pitchings OK. The next night we dont hit again. Its certainly hard to understand why were going like that.New York will send right-hander Logan Verrett out to face Detroit for the first time when he starts Saturday night against the Tigers.dddddddddddd.Verrett is 3-6 with a 4.20 ERA in 28 games with the Mets this season, including 10 starts. He has made four starts since the All-Star break with no decisions but a 3.86 ERA. He has 16 strikeouts and eight walks. This will be his second straight start against an American League team, having allowed three runs in five innings against the New York Yankees in his most recent start.Detroit left-hander Matt Boyd will be seeking a chance to prolong his time in the rotation when he starts against the Mets.Boyd (2-2, 4.71 ERA) will be making his 10th start in 11 appearances with Detroit this season. He has done a decent job of filling in while Zimmermann and Norris recuperated. It will be his first game against the Mets and only his second time facing a National League opponent. Boyd got two outs in relief in a game against the Cubs last Aug. 19 in Chicago.Boyd has been inconsistent, tending to throw too many hittable pitches at some point in his most of his starts, but he did pick up a win in his last outing. He allowed three runs in five innings with a walk and six strikeouts against Houston on July 29.Detroit has pulled within two games of first-place Cleveland in the American League Central after winning nine of 10 games while the Indians have cooled off.We want everyone to join us, Detroit second baseman Ian Kinsler said. Theres plenty of room on the bandwagon. ' ' '
